1-4 Part Ancient Ecclesiastical and Academic Songs, transl. by Asunta (Latin Finnish). The song collection Piae cantiones ecclesiasticae et scholasticae veterum Episcoporum, 1582 is an outstanding monument in the musical history of Sweden-Finland. The Piae cantiones songs have been in use for centuries in the Swedish realm, but especially in Finland. They have also been included in the hymn compilations of the Finnish Lutheran Church and there are also variants of Piae cantiones in the religious folk music of Finland.
