There pieces were written in 1992 as a result of an inspiring discussion with Minna Kajander about the technical possibilities she mastered at a time she was studying the horn and preparing for her 3 3 examination. Wessman wanted to write expressive concert peces without any stylistic concessions – essentially for trombone students, but why not for professional trombone players as well.
